How to install a Seek tool

Every Seek tool installs the same way. It takes about a minute, and you only do it once per tool.

  1. Download the tool. Click the pink Download button on any card. You'll get a .zip file.
  2. Unzip it. On a Mac, double-click the file. On Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All. Put the folder somewhere you won't delete it — Chrome loads the tool from that folder every time it starts.
  3. Open Chrome's extensions page. Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter.
  4. Turn on Developer mode. It's the switch in the top-right corner of that page.
  5. Click "Load unpacked". It appears at the top-left once Developer mode is on.
  6. Choose the folder you unzipped. The folder itself, not the .zip. If Chrome says it can't find a manifest, you've picked one level too high — open that folder and choose the one inside it.
  7. Pin it. Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's toolbar, then the pin next to the tool's name. Now it's one click away.
Updating later? Download the new zip, unzip it over the same folder, then click the refresh arrow on the tool's card at chrome://extensions. Your settings stay put — unless the banner above says to export a backup first.
