1️⃣ Step 1: The Facebook Post Bait.I have 5-10 strategic Facebook Posts that walk my niche audience through a particular problem they're struggling with and how to solve it elegantly. These posts detail exactly how they can solve their problem and the work and skills that are needed to make it work. I show them the solution to the problem, while at the same time showing them how difficult it can be if they try to solve it on their own.
There is of course... a template to creating these effectively.
2️⃣ Step 2: The "Boost to Saturate" Ad.
I then take that post and boost it from the ad editor. I put it in front of my audience and I make sure that it gets in front of as many of my potential clients as possible. Because I'm aiming at a small group, it's not overly expensive to "be everywhere" when it comes to these folks. After about 2-4 weeks of being slammed with my Posts in their Newsfeed, it starts to come across that I'm someone who is deep into their market and that can possibly help them.
3️⃣ Step 3: The Cool Request.
Somewhere in the Facebook post, I let them know that if they have any questions, they can send me a private message. This request is casual and is 100% about me helping them. I'm not trying to trap someone into a sales pitch... My intention is to be valuable to my target market.
4️⃣ Step 4: The Lightbulb Goes on
After seeing my carefully crafted boosted post a few times in their feed, they start paying attention just to see what all the fuss is about. This is "FOMO" in full force (Fear of Missing Out). When they do start paying attention, they end up learning something that makes sense and want more. This is when I start becoming known as "That Guy" in their world. (and by "that guy", I mean someone that can help them with my particular skill... which is branding and "moving up a tax bracket" in my case).
5️⃣ Step 5: They contact me via Messenger.
It doesn't happen the first time they see my post, but eventually the ones that really want to grow in their business reach out to me to ask a small question. This typically turns into a solid Facebook Messenger conversation and that's when I offer the strategy session so we can jam on the phone (The Strategic post and the personal fb conversation is what warms them up to trusting me enough to hop on the phone).
Yes... I do have a template that I follow to make these Facebook conversations productive and to lead them to wanting to chat more.
Before we hop on the phone, I am careful to position that this call is about giving them an action plan on how to move forward with their business... and that I'll do my best to help. I send them to a special page to setup a strategy session with me (this page is a huge part of the process).
6️⃣ Step 6: The Actual Strategy Session.
On the call, I end up asking them 4 questions and then letting them do 95% of the talking.
PLEASE NOTE: You should know that before we even hop on the phone... they want to work with me (because of what I've already done for them in our other interactions).... they are just trying to figure out what their commitment will be if we do work together and if they are ready to make it work.
These 4 questions... show them if we are going to be a fit and get them ready to invest.
7️⃣ Step 7: The Close
Because I've used the 4 questions that I mentioned above... the close is typically them asking me "how much it will cost". The majority of what I say on the strategy session is all about explaining the payment process and what happens as soon as they're done paying.
So... from here, you're probably asking yourself...
